Need help from fellow Aussies

 The journey to these surgeries is very different in Australia. Just wanted to hear from some Aussies to find out the time-line etc.

Currently I have called my Health Insurance company and they have told me that I am covered for any type of surgery so long as it is medically necessary.  I made them check on the Sleeve specifically and they said yes....so long as doctor says it is necessary. Well with a currenty BMI of 47 I would think that is not a problem LOL

I am trying to get a referal from my GP to a bariatric surgeon but would like some idea of which surgeon to see and costs involved and how long til I have to fork over the $$$.

Can anyone on here help with these questions?????
