I suspect a lot of people have struggled with pre op weight loss! If it were easy, we wouldn't need the surgery!

Hang in there, and keep working on it!

How long have you been working on this? You're not going to lose instantly.

Of course I did.  If I was able to lose weight easily before surgery, I would not have needed surgery.

Si, oui, ja!

Stuggling with it would make you normal!  My surgeon, when I complained about it, said that there were two reasons for the weight loss process prior to surgery.  One was a compliance issue:  he wants to make sure patients are reasonably compliant with his instructions and honest when not compliant.  Another was evidence for the insurance company that diets weren't the answer.  The third was helping de-fat the liver, something you won't necessarily see the effects of on the scale or in how your pants fit.

Do what you need to do for the process and your health and don't worry about the scale (easier said than done, but important!)

This is a wonderful opinion. The things mentioned are unanimous and needs to be appreciated by everyone.

how long have you tried it?  are you using a diet plan or just doing it on your own.  my dr offered a preop diet plan, i kept thinking, i know how to lose weight i have done it before and it worked,  then one day i realised that my wl journey did not magically start when i woke up from surgery, it starts now that i made the decision.  i gave myself over and did exactly what i was told. and i lost weight quickly, i think i had been lying to myself.  now i have 4 weeks of skim milk to endure and i am trying to envision it like preparing for a marathon, no one wakes up one day and runs a marathon, if you did you would probably die! lol  imagine your surgery has already happened and live accordingly.  talk to the NUT about modifying what you are doing.  wishing you much success!
