Aahh... OREOS! use to be my favorite cookie. lol

I've been doing much better on my eating today. Done much to recover from my slip up. I'm determined I'm not gonna let certain things (food or people) be an excuse for me to not reach my goal.

Thank you very much for your kind words.

Susan... I wanted to add to my post , I am 4.5 years post Op Lap Band. If I was to get on my knees and confess  to the "Food god's" or "Food Police"  some of the Dumb Crap I have managed to consume  along the  Journey... I be in Post OP  Food Purgatory a LONG TIME ! Pre OP too, OK ?  I'd be begging for all that cared  to  bail me out  with  " Food Mass Cards and  to Light WLS  Candles" ... for my so called  "Food Sin"  if such existed . Good news.. THEY DON"T!  :)  Every day we get up we get a clean slate!  The daily  exercise, better food choices  and working at it add's up!  Yes.. we all eat  stupid stuff,  I did any ways.  I got to Goal on a Band,  I maintain.. has it been perfect , Nope! Am I perfect? Oh Heck  no!   Will I be... UGH.... Nope!
Susan ,  Have you ever wondered why they call it a  "Journey" ? I woke up in Recovery  with  a Lap band   on  my Gut, I didn't have  brain surgery , that may have helped more . I can't say I was rolled into , OR  out  of it a "WLS  Saint". Most of us ( I did say MOST , some may be PERFECT )  are a work in progress. Many of us are  trying to change bad habits ( emotional and food etc). The GOOD NEWS is we are  TRYING...   It is a Positive  step.
Positive works :)

I think it's great and encouraging that you've been post op that long. I know it's gonna be a continuing journey, I'm just ready to get past the surgery.

Thanks for the laughs too!

What i love about  my surgery is it gives me  a chance to start over,

Unfortunately Im still overeating me .

GRRRR

Im  an EMOTIONAL  eater ....  a will ful eater  ..an angry eater  ...a boredom eater  ....

I ve discovered afer surgery that it was NEVER   really about hunger

Yeah... that's classic eating disorder behavior, so hard. It is about hunger but, not for food. You might find OA helpful.

Oh so true so true.  I find any book by Geneen Roth helpful. She's written a couple really good ones recently.

Geneen's stuff is very good. Did you know she also does seminars and retreats for ED pts?

oh sure....it would be so awesome to ever afford one of them.  She seems like such a compassionate being.

I've learned since being on the pre-op diet that I'm an emotional cook! And what I cook I eat! lol
And Lord knows I love good ole southern cookin'.
