A question for all RNY'ers
about the pureed stage. If anyone would like to share what they
eat on a typical day, I would greatly appreciate it. I know they want
me to eat 4-5 small meals a day. I am lost to what I should cook or
eat and I don’t want to end up eating soup and mash potatoes for
6 weeks.

I won't lie; it was difficult to make it through the 4 weeks of pureed food my surgeon wanted.
I have been eating three ounces of tuna, or chicken (white meat has more protein than dark) pureed with one tablespoon of low-fat mayo. I also ate three ounces of cottage cheese (mixed with a little salsa) a few times.
I hope this helps, and good luck!
good way to increase the protein level.
Actually, as my surgeon said, just make sure your food is about the size of an eraser when
you swallow it.
Best wishes,

thefat free part is crucial I think for optimal weight loss . U can throw in someslices of fat free cheese for variety too ...
DONT eat broccoli or cauliflower or brssels sprouts yet cuz they cause gas ... and make sure ya have gasx in the house!
YOu have gotten some some excellent responses, and I agree with all of them, except the one who said "Yuck"-I'll get him later..lol...You need POSITIVE right now...and I am NOT a "fairy farts and rainbows" support type person, but this pureed thing will NOT be hard for you, and is a very important part of the HEALING phase.
Think of your new guts as a newborn baby. what would you feed a baby. Can a baby chew and swallow big chunks of stuff? Would you feed a baby doritoes and Big Macs? Of course not. My doc used that example, all those yrs ago, and it still sticks with me.
As far as "food". Taco Bell beans n cheese was probably my "meal of choice", back in the day..talk about a "cheap date"...just be careful of eating too many because of getting pent up gas, if you're not able to walk and fart enough, of course..Cottage cheese was-and is-a fave because it is very versatile.. as already said, "fake lasagna" is GREAT..I also like to put a lil Splenda and cinnamon/freeze slightly and pretend it's something "illegal"
Good for you for getting your information in order. PLANNING IS CRUCIAL, at EVERY stage of this LIFETIME journey!!!
