i was totally pain free and complication free, and i stayed for six days,  i was a light wight , mobility was not a issue, just good quality of care,   if you don't take in food don't expect to excrete ANY (BM) IT DOES NT COME FROM NOWHERE!

I'm the opposite.  I was out of the hospital 2 days after the surgery and the doctor didn't listen to the problems that were occuring.  He should have kept me in longer.

 Yes, it was long enough.

I had surgery early in the morning and was up walking (verrry slowly) late that night.  Walking will definitely help with gas.  Right now there's probably not enough in your intestines for you to have a bowel movement.  It'll happen.

Be prepared - you might be EXTREMELY tired for a while.  It gets better

I only stayed one night and it was enough for me.  I was more comfortable at home and not having any problems that required hospital care.  I think going home as soon as possible is better, in part because hospitals are germy places and the longer you are there the greater your risk of infection.  I don't mean I think it's better to go home if you have medical issues that can best be addressed in the hospital.  I just mean, if I had stayed in the hospital another day, I would have just been sipping liquids, taking short walks and sleeping, which is exactly what I did at home.  There was no reason it would be better for me to to that in the hospital than at home.

Why don't you want to go home before having a bowel movement?  What is it about the hospital that makes you think it'll be better to poop there?

It's probably gas pain.  Very common post op.

I stayed 2 nights, and I think I would have gone insane if I had to stay one more night, maybe if I was able to get a private room it wouldnt have been to bad, but the first night they wake you up every hour to check your vitals and then second night they were waking me up trying to check my new roomies vitals.  It sucked, I got good rest at home.

I only stayed overnight for one night and was released without a BM. The gas pain was the worst part for me, and it took 2 days before i started burping or anything. My surgery was about 5 weeks ago.! I think you are more than fine to go home, maybe a little scared to, but you will do just fine! And good luck!
