Dr. Almanza Tijuana,Mex.

I am very seriously in the process of selecting a surgeon for the vertical sleeve. Can anybody be kind enough to give me info on Dr. Almanza in Tijuana. Trying to pick a surgeon. I'm about 90 lbs overweight and have been battling it all my life. Tried just about every weight loss plan known. Please any info is deeply appreciated good or bad.

  I have read some concerning posts in the past. I don't think I will ever forget Melissa's story. Her experience and Dr. Almanza's name are now synonymous in my mind. Good luck in your search and future surgery.

Keep researching. Ask on the vsg board too. Many there like Aceves, and I like Ungson, though Tijuana may be out. Surgeon skill is WAY more important than location.

From everything I've read, I would avoid Dr. Alamanza, however, that is just my opinion. I went to Dr. Joya in Puerta Vallarta and had a wonderful experience.

He operates out of a 'clinic' (not a hospital) in a strip mall in Tiquana. His 'stats' are really bad, but if you need cheap... well then, that is what you will get.
