Big hugs from me. When I was 31 I had bleeding that didn't stop for months. Took the morons months to find out that it was not hormonal - long story short I ended up having a complete hysterectomy. They found dysplasia (pre-cancerous) cells. To stop the bleeding and as a preventative they took everything - since their reasoning was if it came back they would have to take everything anyway. I had 2 little girls so I went along with it.

Turns out DES daughters (you can google it for more info) are more predisposed to certain types of cancers and I'm one of them.

I'm lucky. Didn't need chemo or radiation afterwards.

17 years later there are no more scary pap smears with bad news - even though I don't have a cervix I still get checked anyway. If it had spread they would have removed not only the mouse house but other various bits and pieces as well.

You have every right to be scared, however...cancer isn't the death sentence it used to be.

Get support over the weekend, have a friend or family member go to all of your appts with you and most of all

Prepare to be a cancer survivor!!

Hugs hugs hugs and more hugs

Peace
Binda

I have wasted enough of my life worrying about what people think of me.

{{{{{{{{{ hugs }}}}}}}}} for you

My mom had this nearly 40 years ago.  She had a hysterectomy, total I think, and was completely cured, no chemo or radiation, thank the Lord!  She has gone on to beat lung cancer as well and a few years ago had a kidney removed.  She is 71 and still works part time, cooks great food and keeps an immaculate house!

It ain't over till it's over and you're just getting started!

Have a great weekend with your loved ones and please keep us posted on how you're doing!

Wendy I am so sorry about your diagnosis.  I think I know how you feel.  I had the surgery to get healthy, only to be diagnosed with breast cancer a little over a year later.  Fortunately the worst is behind me.  I was diagnosed in the early stages and opted for bilateral mastectomy.  I am finishing up with reconstruction now.

The new****s you like a ton of bricks.  The idea that you have something in your body that has the potential of killing you is very frightening.  However, you will pull it together and do whatever it takes to get well.  Do your research and seek out the best medical team available to you.

You will be in my prayers.  Remember that there are many cancer survivors out here.  I am confident that you will join us in the near future.
