If surgery is only 10% and values, beliefs, and lifestyle are the other 90%---how is that after I had surgery but DID NOT change my values, beliefs, or lifestyle I 'magically' lost 170 pounds? When before I had surgery, the very best I could do was stop gaining???

That is awesome of your weight loss. ok let me say this, my lap band is 10% tool and 90% mental for me, you have done great, but i have to change the amount of my food, and the speed at which i eat, the tool controls that, the old brain pathways still tell me i can eat the things i can not eat that is the mental part
People can eat through the band and gain weight.

Steve, The reason why your brain is still receiving " hunger signals " is because...

Before you had lapband surgery the outer curvature of your stomach was secreting a hormone called ghrelin, ghrelin is a hormone that stimulates appetite. After you were banded nothing changed and the outer curvature of your stomach still secreted this hormone to your brain.

Had God chosen the sleeve surgery for you, a good portion of the ghrelin would have been cut, and removed from your body. You would have received significantly less stimulation of the
" hunger signal " to your brain. Now you explain to me why God wanted you to do this the hard way by choosing the lapband for you ?

I would also appreciate it Steve if you would answer my earlier question to you in regards to why your God would willingly and maliciously choose to,

allow 120,000 infants to be born each year with sickle cell disease ? 120,000 infants who will be born to live a life of acute pain,severe anemia, infections, and vascular blockages that can lead to widespread organ damage and death.

I just don't understand how you can worship and praise a God that would bring a baby into this world, knowing that this baby was going to suffer extreme pain.

What purpose could he possibly have for doing such a hateful thing to an innocent baby ?

thank you for th comments and concerns, i am at goal, and i have my eating under control. the lapband is the tool of my choice, and it is serving me just fine, do not need to change
