Visual of non-compliance

I figured I would give a visual of why you need to take your vitamins, get regular lab work and continue to see your Dr.'s for follow up care.  All the things I did not do and am now paying the price.  This is a pic of my med's that I take daily (the shots weekly).  Looks fun huh?

I was non compliant with my follow up care after a couple of years and suffered major health problems.  So now I have to take all those.  Those are my vitamins too that I take.  Every once in a while I post about the consequences of not taking care of ourselves post op.  I do it in hopes that it jars those who are also non compliant enough to take action.

That is a picture of why I had surgery.  I am sorry that you are having problems.  Can you give us more details?

There is the long story in my profile. Short version..didnt do what I was supposed to after a couple of years and I paid the price with crappy health. Now I take a lot of meds (hardly on any pre-WLS) and vits. The vits are a must for all of us though. I just have to take a lil extra to keep me going. Sometimes a visual aid helps people realize what they need to do. You should see all the mobility aides I have.

Thanks, Tanya. The visual sure punches your message home! I think I'm going to copy the picture, print it out, and paste it on my vitamin cupboard.

What kind of surgery did you have? Why didn't you take your vitamins? I see you're a "revision" what kind of surgery are you wanting to have now?

Good luck.  I used to take nearly 22 prescription meds PRE-Op. I'm RNY and now take arouond 15 Various vites and supplements. My labs are awesome. Our surgeon made us sign an agreement/waiver that we understood that we HAD to take vites for life. it really isn't hard at all.

RNY's and D/S are the big surgeries for HAVING to really be rigorous about vites because of the malabsorbtion.

Warmly,
Jackie

It's a bit late for that question -- she's got irreversible brain damage.  Be gentle.

Well I had the RNY.

I took them the first few years then well I guess life happened and I didnt think they were THAT important.

I dont know were it says I want a revision.  Cause that would be a NO.

My surgeon also stressed vitamins.  Seeing that we are all only human and have free will I screwed up.  My surgeon didnt follow me yelling at me to follow the rules.
