 LOL @ medicalish.

yes, it's true, very true......

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I love Data!  He's more feeling than some other people on the ship!

Meantime, have you considered data analysis or program development in public health ... you know, look at outbreak information and help those who need to go out amongst the people know what to target in their education?

I haven't consider those, no, but only because I have never heard of them. so, you go to school and study, what, statistics?  public health, obviously.

What I am thinking is a little more along the lines of advertising, publicity development, and all that.  Behind the scenes stuff.  You need to know about medical stuff to be able to put something meaningful together, but creating it is not the :::yawn::: statistical analysis.   So, you would need to know about marketing, marketing health concepts, and computer programs like Publisher, social networking, and audiovisual stuff.

Well hello neighbor!!!!!  How are you???

You are thinking about public health or epidemiology (sp?)... good ideas, but tend to be governement jobs which is not where I would want to be going these days...

My daughter's bf work(ed) for the state courts.... laid off.

Who would have ever thought that state workers in Alabama would be losing their jobs?  Scary times.

Howdy, howdy, Becky!  I am on the other side of 85 from the Millbrook Walmart on 14.  It is a SMALL world!

I was more thinking of community health issues with public health, yes.  You know, looking at already collected data to determine patterns, not at the epidemiological level, but more the story level with taking in reports and compiling them.

Seems like everyone is losing their jobs, so in change that is an important consideration:  is there a job to go to and will it last?

STAY in Healthcare....that is where the jobs will be! But with that said I hear you on not working with people....lol...I work in healthcare but not directly with patients...I work in billing but just in getting the paperwork ready for processing, no customer service...whew...lol...as "good" as I am in dealing with people it does get exhausting.

ETA: With all the transition to electronic medical records there will be a lot of computer related job...there already are...

yes -  I know - I am looking into "coding" which is something you can learn fairly fast. - yes, people are exhausting unless you are an extrovert in which case I guess not.

but I am an introvert!

Yes, I was going to ETAA (edit to add again) last night but my net went down...CODING is the key to $$$ in healthcare and some big changes are coming down in the next few years...even with my degree I need to get some street cred in coding...and there are some work from home gigs...woohoo!!!

I'm a extrovert....high end on the Myers Briggs scale, but I get exhausted by the unrealistic demands people have...thus the reason I got out of higher ed...I pay tuition so you have to do whatever I want!
