Two reasons why the Lap Band can't possibly work for everyone.

Really, seriously, Robby....Ms.Batt is just about the most civil, positive person these forums could ever produce.    If SHE's using this type of terminology on this poor excuse for intelligent life spouting her nonsense, she's got a really valid reason for doing so.    Nothing else is working, thus far.

As I posted over in the DS board, I'm smelling a troll.

A troll? What's that? Everything that I mentioned is posted all over this forum from people having complications, and what I've seen in real life with people that had the gastric bypass, I have a friend that just got a Sleeve too and she is one miserable soul right now, I am hoping thing gets better the further out she gets, but she has lost about 40 pounds in two months, but at what cost.

This is for MsBatt

Are you serious? Why do you CARE about which surgery I get? It seems like your DS has caused some type of deficiency where you are missing brain cells? Will it hurt you personally if I get a lap band? And if I do get one I should be scared to post here? Oh wait a minute.....I see what you are saying.....how dare I chose a safer surgery where I may lead a normal life without constant lab monitoring and no poopy issues,...right? How dare me....*giggles*

I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say, "We don't care what surgery you get".

But the nonsense you have spewed needs to be identified as that: nonsense.  Because there are other people out there who are capable of making rational decisions based on facts.  That's who we're interested in informing.

I would like to "weigh in" (pun intended!!!) as one who lurked for about a year before I joined this site.
I was like a babe in the woods when it came to knowing info on our options.  After going to the nut, my doc AND seeing what the vets on here said about those options, I made my choice.  (My insurance did not cover DS.)
I thank you people very much for being honest about problems.  I owe you.

It isn't always easy to be the bearer of bad news, but some of us appreciate it.

I got my sleeve on March 14, 2011.  I love it so far!
