The jerk has a terrible reputation and has high complication rates. In fact I just got done reading your other post about your hospital stay. You mentioned that they told your sister that your surgery would only take an hour and a half.

Thing is....While I'm no expert on the DS. I have to believe that the DS is a very serious surgery and not just any ole surgeon can do it. Seems from all that I have read about the DS that the surgery itself would actually take longer then a mere hour and a half, and you are the first DS procedure I have heard of this surgeon doing.

Are you sure he gave you a DS ?

Good catch. She had a previous post about her hospital care, but there were some other things in that post that had many of us wondering if she actually got the DS as well.

I'm starting to seriously wonder if this is a troll account. Her doctor has had many negative replies throughout OH and I think it may be him or someone from his staff collecting negative replies for one purpose or another.

listen i dont know you at all and dont come on here for people to get mad at me, i am using this site to help me get through this mess.  i only found one negative thing about this dr before i used him and that applied for all the dr's i found.  i would have never gone there knowing what i know now. but im not pyscic.  i am not a troll and feel free to ignore my existence on here.  this site is a lot like high school at times, like bullys are on here.  i am just trying to figure this out and thats all.  i am trying desperately to get into a dr here but guess what they dont want to see me.  i have asked did i get the ds, i have called the coordinator and double checked the best i can do. so now i am at a stand still and am asking questions as they come to me to try to figure this all out.  if i go to the dr and have indeed had a ds then why am i stuck and not loosing a pound.  i mean i DO UNDERSTAND  that ds is major surgery, i had that done remember, and i am not a stupid person. just a person with questions on a web site intended for such and there seems to be some really ill people on here that are angry or something. i dunno. please dont respond to anything i post if it bugs u or u r still concerned that i am a troll, mole or otherwise,

Melissa, it has been clearly explained to you why you have not yet lost a pound. This is common sense stuff.

Of course the doctors there don't want to see you. This is one of ten thousand things you should have considered before you went to a butcher for surgery.

You are going to have to get used to the idea that you screwed up. Your research was not research. I am very sorry that you got yourself into this predicament, but it rests entirely on your shoulders. If you had come to ANY resource not directly connected to this butcher's marketing team you would have gotten truth. If you had posted on ANY WLS website that was not in his power, you would have gotten valuable information.

Once you got there, you had ample signs that you were in a bad place. You should have walked away, but you didn't. You stayed in a situation that had an OR in something resembling a strip mall, a surgical suite with ants on the floor, etc.

Because we see this, people are going to assume that you are not all that great at learning stuff. You're going to have to get used to that, too. I am not trying to be mean or vicious or anything when I say that. It is a simple fact. I feel for you that you've had to learn so much stuff the hard way, so fast. It's going to be a tough row to hoe and I want you to succeed, because the alternative is basically that you'll die. Staying fat would be a semi-acceptable outcome for you in my opinion, again because the alternatives are just too awful to comprehend.

However I WANT MUCH BETTER FOR YOU THAN THAT. That's why I'm spending time posting to you. If I did not care, I would either block you and walk away, or you'd KNOW I was mocking you and talking down to you. Thus far I have done neither. My intended tone of voice is calm and instructive and I would like for you to take it that way. (And don't tell me how to change my writing style that you hear it that way. Yours is to shut up and listen to folks who know better, because you obviously have no clue. It's time to LEARN, and it's gonna be hard.)

Okay, again: Lack of weight loss right now is MEANINGLESS. Do not take it to mean that you didn't get a DS (or even a sleeve for that matter). Lack of weight loss in, oh, let's say another two months would indeed be a huge red flag that you got cut open, sewed up and sent on your way.

I understand that you are afraid that lack of weight loss makes you afraid that you didn't get a real WLS. Right now that is NOT an appropriate way to see it. You are two weeks out and you had an infection, as I recall, yes? Or some kind of fever-causing problem? That's another reason to swell and retain fluid.

Do you have health insurance? Are you talking to your PCP about your issues?

You need to go back and re-read some of the replies you received on your other post, particularly the ones from Diana C.

Aside from your surgeons other issues, he is NOT known as a DS surgeon, and there were several things that made a few of us wonder if you possibly only got a sleeve, but your intestines were left alone.

Your recovery was suspiciously easy, and there should be paint peeling stink from your BMs for a while as you heal, if you have actually had the intestines altered.

Please re-read your replies over there.
