HAS ANYONE GOT INSURANCE TO PAY FOR PLASTICS?
I have CA Kaiser, and they paid 100% for my RNY and I have been approved for my breast reduction surgery on 9/9 with 100% coverage as well. I am so excited to have little boobs!! After my weight loss, I am still a DD to a DDD! Although most is just sadly skin :( As for my Panni, I have a weird shape and I really need a TT or a lift, and Kaiser does not cover that. They can fix the rash areas but I would look really funny down there, so I choose for now to play the lottery and wait.

APPEAL! Kaiser is probably not following the rules required by CH&S 1367.63 (it wouldn't be the first or even the 10,000th time Kaiser didn't follow rules, and they depend on most people not knowing that they have the right to appeal), and the DMHC may well order them to pay for appropriate surgery. If you have a "weird shape" you may well have an "abnormal structure of the body" caused by the disease of morbid obesity, for which reconstructive surgery could improve your appearance, which improvement is more than minimal. BUT you need a consult with a SKILLED non-Kaiser plastic surgeon to get such a statement to support your claim. The Kaiser surgeons will toe the party line in describing whether you meet the requirements of the law.
Thank you Diana for the information.

Wow, thanks for all the info. This is very educational. I'm just now 'thinking' about cosmetic surgery. I haven't had any rashes at all so I can't prove those exist. The back pain is sure there and this body is anything but normal. Guess it's time to spend time over in the plastics boards. Thanks again for the great info.
