You've chosen your journey - now choose Miranda's!

Hi MB!

I've started a new hobby. Something I'd like to invite you into. (No, it's not a cult but maybe someday)

Long story short: I have met a lot of post-ops and heard a lot of stories. No matter the surgery type, a lot of our stories have a lot in common. And sometimes when we look back on our journeys there are moments we collectively laugh at, cry over, sigh from and plain wish we could have a do-over for.

Well, we only get one pass at life, but you can re-live and maybe re-do some of your "most special moments" through Miranda.

Who the hell is Miranda?

She's the lead character in a story I've stared online. She's a 30 something career woman and mother who decides she wants to radically change her life through WLS. What she doesn't know is that she's embarking on a big, PHAT adventure where she'll spar with her unsupportive husband, snarky co-workers and her family, who puts the "diss" in dysfunctional.

It's part narrative/part "choose your own adventure." It'll be a weekly installment. Some weeks, like this one, you can vote to choose the next chapter of the story (including, perhaps, the TYPE of WLS Miranda chooses).

So if you're like a good read, check it out. It's sort of like a FICTITIOUS WLS soap opera (cuz we all know plenty of real WLS soap operas exist...just sayin').

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Its fabulous, I love it already but please lets have a happy ending for Miranda, no divorce drama just seeing someone have wls and end up with a happy wonderful rainbows and butterfly life would be nice, its a dream since it probably never really happens it would make nice fiction.

Heidi,

That actually might be YOUR decision not mine!

I will say, no matter which way folks vote for the next episode, you do see better interaction between Miranda and her husband. So you get to see why she actually likes him (despite the fact that he sort of comes off like a jerk in episode 1).

But, as with any soap opera, we can’t let them have an easy time of it!

True but I want her to have a happy ending, I know it sounds hokie but its nice to see things work out form someone even if its a make believe person.  I think she should have a VSG, I want to see how she does long term, that surgery scares me because I don't see why you won't regain once you can eat more at 5+ years out.  Let the show begin!

You're writing is terrific, I was all in right away, and I don't think her husband is a jerk, I think he doesn't understand or relate to having a serious weight issue, and he did want to go to the meeting with her, so I think there is hope he will come around.  Yeah I know I sound silly talking about someone who isn't real but I guess I have a vision for them in my head.  lol

Good Job, keep it coming.

I’m glad you have a vision for them in your head. That’s what I hoped for! They are based on real people I’ve met or heard about. I think that’s why their behavior rings true in how they relate to one another.

VSG, eh? Could be. I do know that’s one of the decisions I’m leaving up to the reader, so we shall see! Thanks for the feedback!
