Kudos for saving the dog.  That made my WEEK!

I had to take one to the shelter yesterday.  A nice labx pup that was living in the fields where I walk my dogs.  At least he'll get to eat for a while.

You're like me---taking one to the shelter is a double-edged sword. Yes, they get to to eat---until their time is up and they're gassed. (We don't have a no-kill shelter here---I hope you do!) Have you tried contacting breed-specific rescues? Sometimes they'll take mixed breeeds, if they're mostly one thing.

I do a bit of rescue.  I've lost count of how many I've fostered.  I couldn't keep this one, even over night in my apartment with four other dogs so he had to go to the shelter.  This shelter does not gas thank God but plenty get humanely euthanized.

People who LIE and say they have an "invisible" disability so that they can gain access for their dog (no matter how wonderful and special their dog is) to places that only service dogs legally can access.

I would like for MY dog to be able to go anywhere with me, including in the cabin of an airplane.  She is perfectly trained.

But people who LIE and CHEAT the system are endangering the very very HARD won rights of the disabled and it ****** ME OFF.

I also hate when people are abusing the handicap parking.  People get their doctors sign for one of these things and there's nothing freakin wrong with them or they use a family member's sign!!!  Get off you lazy ass and walk and save the handicap spaces for those that can't!!!!

I believe a well-trained dog should be allowed to go anywhere a badly-trained child is allowed to go. I also support the idea of "No children" areas in restaurants, just like we used to have "no smoking" sections. (Well, I REALLY think the "Children" section of a restaurant should be a walled enclosure. Sound-proofed.)

I agree on both  and specifically about the service animals- more and more are being used to treat people with PTSD, an invisible disability.. so, I tend to withhold any judgment unless I know for a fact that the animal is "just a pet."

I understand invisible disabilites.  This was a friend.  I KNOW he does not have a disability that this dog is trained to assist him with.  The dog is a world class athlete but it is still wrong to lie. I see more and more folks doing it because they don't want to fly their dogs as cargo.  I don't blame them for not wanting to fly their dogs cargo but the blind have worked for YEARS to gain access to public places with their dogs. People who are taking advantage of the new rules allowing service dogs other than for the blind to access public places PISS ME OFF.  Would the same people stoop so low as to put on dark sunglasses and get a harness and act blind?  Of course not.  But somehow it is okay to pass oneself off as a person with an invisible disability.  BULL ****

If the lady in the next cubicle don't stop with the "I'm Allergic to Everything in the World!  First, "Rea, I'm allergic to my perfume, Trick! I  don't wear perfume; then she's allergic to tomatoes and eat salsa at least once a week; allergic to nuts, then DON'T EAT PEANUT BUTTER!!!!; Yesterday she told me that she was allergic to chicken, I was drinking chicken broth and she said her legs started to swell.  I asked, did you talk to your doctor about this and her response was "no, I diagnosed it myself."  She comes from a family of "miracle workers," her mother "scared" asthma out of her.  Mercy

Also, what make people think they can say anything they want to you?  I live in BH, not bragging, just need you to visualize.  I'm at the grocery store look at the different soups and I a walked up to me and asked "if the soup was any good," I replied, "I don't know, have tried it yet."  He then looked at me and said "your breast are big" and I replied "Wow! mystery solved, thanks.  Really?
