Hello and good morning e1. I was wondering what your favorite Kitchen gagets are for mixing your protien powder shakes. I have one of those handheld blender stick thinggies. I find it does NOT like ice at all..no matter what size. So what is your fav? Where did you get it? About how much is it.  Thank you for all your help and resources as I prepare for my WLS>
Many Blessings on your Journey roads.

For ice-free shakes, the stick blender is good, but for blending with ice, you can't beat a real blender. I got one that came with a blender top as well as a food processor bowl and it was about 50 bucks. It was no fancy brand, just something from Target or Walmart of Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Hi there,

I purchased the Ninga new 3 piece blender,  processor, chopper system. It is 3 pieces.
I use it for everthing. It mushies my food. makes great shakes, and you can even make soft icecream (healthy if course). Just use frozen fruit, low fat milk, Splenda.  Use middle size pitcher and first pulse a few times then hold for about 60 sec. and you have soft ice cream.  Crushes ice to powder pulse first. It never leaves my counter for all types of jobs i would use a knife. Small one
makes salsa, chops to as big or fine as you want. Pulse to see size. Puree or chop and blend ????
I have gone off coffee in the morning but want the caffine.  I use the UNJURY shakes (on line fantastic no chalky taste) vanilla,  half a cup very strong coffee, 1% milk a couple of Splenda and 4 ice cubes.  Pulse and purr for 30 sec. 2 Big delicous glasses of  ice cold coffee malt.

It goes for $49.00 at BJ's or $69.00 other places. Make sure its the small round, med pitcher, and large pitcher. I think it's only in Black. QVC I think has colors. You don't want the expensive blender one.
That's my suggestion, I think you will be very pleased, it was voted no. 1.Good luck Kate in NY

Magic Bullet - less expensive at Walmart or KMart, etc.  But the blades and the cover cups were and still are fantastic - great for multi-use purposes too!

How ironic to read this post today.  I have the magic bullet but went out and bought the Ninja 1200 system today.. they had the one for $49 at Target but my dh decided he wanted the larger system that was $159.  I am not sure what he plans on creating with but oh well..    I am sure the $49 one would have worked for my purposes.  Made a sf snow cone for my son already... it is going to be a lot of fun!!
