XPOST, OT: Talk to me about rudeness . . .
I'm working an a blog post about basic, day-to-day rudeness and would love to have you share your stories.
From salespeople not bothering to say "please" or "thank you"
to the driver in front of you who won't get off the phone
to the screaming kid at the grocery store
to the things that make you want to tear your hair out
and punch the next person you see:
whatever simply irks you or keeps you awake at night. Lemme hear it! It'll be interesting to read experiences from different parts of the country to see which areas/states have the rudest people.

I have a team member who routinely posts about how much she loves our team. She is the first one to have shirts/bags etc made with the team logo. And yet she has NEVER offered to help another team member. When she was specifically directed to do a task (that other people just volunteer to do) she only did half of it even though she had been directed on how to do the entire task. She has been directed in the sport rules about helping run the tournaments and she has NEVER volunteered to help. She treats her team members like her staff. RUDE. RUDE. RUDE.
I've found that customer service people are actually less rude these days than they were 10 years ago.
I can't STAND rude people.

People who think my circular driveway is there for THEIR f'g convenience. Note to self: Must get road spikes. 20 to 30 people in a typical weekend gets a bit old quickly.
I even had one dumb wit stop on my driveway with his SUV AND BOAT and was chatting up on the phone. I walked up, knocked on the window and asked him if he wanted me to make him a hamburger and coffee while he was using MY driveway. Grrr.

I have a neighbor who BURNS HIS GARBAGE. Yes, this IS against the law, but we live 'way out in the county, and the cops "can't be bothered" to drive the 15+ miles to come out here and bust his ass.
I'm not certain which I find the more rude---his burning the garbage (that smells like...well, I just don't have the words!), or the cops refusing to come enforce the law.

Oh my, we must have same neighbor!! Add cat box litter to the burning & it's a smell that makes you stay inside. She does it in nice weather when you're trying to work in yard or having a BBQ.
I & others have called the local fire dept., & they come out & give her a warning, but she's back at it shortly after that. I even videoed it and show how the embers fly up into our fir trees, not a good combo when it's dry out.
Take care,
Kathy
