people are used to looking at other people that are Super Sized. lots of us had around 100 pounds to lose, including me. I think you are SMART to get surgery instead of stay large.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Being told I am too "tiny" to be considering wls. Now even the bariatric people here are telling me I am so "tiny". WTF??? im over 100 pounds overweight! That is NOT tiny. sorry peeps had to vent to ppl who would understand. Thanks
People tell me that now that I've lost the weight. I've just concluded that many people were unfortunately born with a very low IQ, and there is nothing I can do about it.

I may have been a heavyweight, but not everyone is. My sister has less than 100# to lose. She's having the DS in 2 weeks. She may be a lightweight, but she's metabolically challenged and needs surgical intervention.

kahlana, that sucks!  I only wish I could have had wls when I was at 233!!!!  I weighed 340+ when I had mine and I cannot imagine how much easier it all would have gone if I had got to start out at 233.

Please try again with a new doctor.  I really hope you can get a doctor who will listen to you.

Good luck,
Rosie
I got my sleeve on March 14, 2011.  I love it so far!

Thanks for letting me vent gang and I am DEFINITELY looking for a new surgeon. It just bugs me when people say I am tiny when I look at people like my girlfriend who went from a size 00 to a size 2 when she was pregnant. THAT is tiny. Anyway, I am currently looking into surgeons in the Great Lakes, IL area that do the DS on us "tiny" people (and accept WI medical assistance) as well as Green Bay, WI to name a couple of places. Now that I have reliable transportation again and can go a lot further my options are more open. I am not settling for less that the DS that is for sure.

I understand the feelings you are having I had 100 to lose when I went to the doc. I live in Green Bay and went to Dr Kemmerling. His team is the best, they were all very supportive!! Keep up the good fight, it is so worth it. Good Luck!

Hey Shepito thank you! I was just doing some research on Dr. Kemmerling. Do you know if he does the DS on lightweights? My surgeon here does them just not on anyone with a less than 40 BMI. I am also going to see if my pre-op stuff can be done here and the surgery elsewhere.

I knew of someone who went through the same thing...So she gained weight over a 3 month period, and then they allowed her to have the surgery...Crazy isnt it...Just keep at em, dont give up...GOod luck

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only TRUE FRIENDS will leave footprints in your heart...And may that friendship have such a ONENESS that when one weeps the other will taste salt...Friends are like balloons ; once you let them go you can't get them back....So I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.
