I have recently retired - hooray!!  I need to get individual insurance, haven't had any luck.  Is it possible to get individual health insurance after gastric bypass.   Can anyone recommend an insurance plan?    Thanks!!

Two sites about health care that are priceless:

Will help you find all the options available and price them for your state.

Also, good link to neutral person about healthcare in general:

The topic of insurance for post ops was discussed at my last meeting. One guy was happy he'd lost enough wt to qualify for life insurance. But since he was a RNY post op, he's paying twice the normal premium, but he can get insurance. Many companies don't want to issued life insurance to post ops until around 5 years post op.  Haven't heard of any issues about getting health insurance, just that the policies are not cheap for anyone.
