An open letter to OH, MODS, ERIC KLEIN, and YOU
I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

It may still be the best choice for some people, but they deserve the actual information and experieinces, not just the happy news. We all need that about all surgeries to make informed decisions!
I recently found out that being banded increased certain risks upon conversion to other surgeries. I did not know that when I was banded. I also didn't realize that a very high percentage do need to have the band removed at some point. I somehow thought that this "reversible" business meant I didn't have long term impact from the band. In reality, I do have a permanent impact, scar tissue and encrustation around the band increases my risks as I convert to another surgery.
I am speaking as a "bandster" since 2001 who was also told that the reason I had problems with my band were basically my fault. (not here, but on other well known online Band support forum)
As I'm not a bandster myself, I don't get to interact with you much, but I've read your posts on the MB (mostly) and my personal opinion is that you are awesome. Also, again even though I'm not a bandster and so don't spend much time on the LB forum, even I know who you are talking about. You were gracious in not naming names.
Hopefully the mods or powers that be or God or whoever is in charge of this site will do the right thing.
It's really depressing to me to see how few OH friends I met here years and years ago post at all anymore. Hardly anyone, least of all OH, seems to care where they went or why they left. I very much want to stay to help everyone, not just band people, but it's very hard when you're lied about and insulted at every turn and given no avenue whatsoever to address the lies.

Youa re so much more valuable around here and offer so much to patients of all types, than "She who will not be named".
I'd hate to see you go, but i completely understand your reasons for doing so.
I have always found your unique style wonderful, I don't pay close enough attention to the boards to know who you are talking about but probably I already have her blocked. I am not big fan of the talking behind peoples back, mine or anyones, if someone has something to say say it to me directly. I guess you can guess I have lots of people who I have found annoying blocked, I have been here for years also and I always thought I would never leave but honestly some days I don't even think of OH at all anymore. I guess I am finally at the point where I can cut the umbilical cord and function on my own. I doubt I will ever leave altogether but I have definately scaled back. Never let anyone force you out if you wanna stay, say **** it to the haters and go on being you and say whatever you want, its stays until it gets pulled.
