I am on the 2nd day of my pre-opt diet. My doctor wants me to do this part until July 13! Anyhow, I wasn't hungry at all yesterday. My intake was, fat free yogur****er with that MIO flavoring, clam chowder soup (of course I strained the meat and potatoes out)and a protein Shake with low fat frozen yogurt, frozen strawberry s, fresh banana, skim milk, and of course a scoop of protein mix.I was so full, this can't be right? Please give me some suggestions! Thanks for reading... Leigh

Depends on the pre-op diet.
are you supposed to be doing low fat? Low carb? Low cal?

Define guilt. What are you exactly feeling guilty about?

You are at the beginning of an amazing journey, and trust me when I say that the physical changes your body will go thru will be much easier to understand and deal with than the psychological changes. The doctor only operates on our bodies (ie, stomach). Yet our heads are usually just as much at fault for our obesity.

It is all either low fat, fat free, or fresh fruit. I feel guilty because it taste so good! And is filling me up. My doc is saying he wants me to lose 14 more pds before my surgery. I am suppose to be shrinking my liver. Nothing is high in sugar, but the yogurt has about 20 grams of carbs. Im so confused. I am having the sleeve, and also am putting the protein powder in with the low fat or fat free frozen yogurt. Let me clarify the frozen yogurt is low fator I also have one that is fat free( blue bell brand) but I am also eating fat free yoplait yogurt that is the highest in carbs. I am haing the sleeve. Hopefully that helps some. Thank you for the replies! Leigh

You feel guilty because it tastes good?     Forgive me for saying so, but that is just nuts.

Quite honestly, good healthy food SHOULD taste good. We just get so used to fast food/junk food that we THINK those are yummy...but they are not.

As one other poster already mentioned...high carbs..unless there is a lot of dietary fiber..usually means lots of sugar.  BEWARE the sugar.

Ok thank y'all for all's advise. Im thinking since I have a almost 3 weeks till my surgery date, I will finish up what I have bought and then go back to the grocery store and buy Greek yogurt( a friend told me about) Lay off the Fresh fruit ( because of sugars) and keep with my protein shakes with skim milk and sugar free jello, and pudding. Also the broths of course. Thank you all! Leigh
