Will you help me???

Not like Charlie Sheen “WINNING!" win. An actual win from something I actually did.

For those that don’t know who the hell I am, hi, I’m Nikki (also called “Nik" in some realms of this site). I lurk this and many other boards and post mainly to the RNY board. I’m also the author of Bariatric Foodie, or, as I like to call it, “the little blog that could."

Anyhoo…I’m here today to ask for your support!

Long story short (because you, unlike me, probably have a life): I entered a contest called the Magic Bullet Kitchen Magician contest. The premise of the concept is simple. You (and when I say “you" I mean “I") make a 2.5 minute video of demonstrating some treat made using the Magic Bullet, upload it to Facebook and get people to vote for it. Top ten vote-getters go on to be finalists and have a chance to win $10,000!

I’ve made a video demonstrating how to make no-sugar added peach mango frozen pops. I made the “regular" version (sans protein) but they can easily be modified to a protein treat with a couple of scoops of whey.

So let’s cut to the chase: I NEED VOTES! The top vote getter currently has over 1,600 votes. I have…230-some. Which isn’t bad considering the video has only been up 2 days versus about a month for that other video. Still, I am the underdog here. And I can’t do this alone.

If you are on Facebook, please consider throwing me a vote. It takes about two seconds. Watching the video also might be nice but, again, you have a life and I respect it!

In closing, I’ll just say it would be an absolute dream for me to win. I’ve been running Bariatric Foodie for about three years now and I have written a protein shake recipe book that I want to self-publish, but up to now finances keep stalling me. I’m very excited about my next project: a WLS guide to eating at Disney World. But that’s going to take some seed money as well. So in many ways, winning this contest could be life changing for me.

So that’s my plea (sans violin music because I thought that would just insult your intelligence). I hope you’ll consider supporting me. The link is http://apps.facebook.com/kitchenmagic/59 (or you could click on any of the not-so-subtle links I have provided within this post).

Thanks in advance for your support!

Did you like the wink at the end? That was my little diva's suggestion. :)

 Hi Nik,

I just voted.  Where can I buy the popsicle molds.  Using greek yogurt sounds so smart and yummy.

I got mine at Wal-Mart. They were a dollar. My kids LOVE the straws on them. :)

Thanks for voting!

Thanks Hala. Since I was self promoting so hard, I wasn't sure to mention this, but I'm going all in: you can vote once a day. So if you see fit to vote again tomorrow, please do!
