Gall Bladder Surgery: Update

I was sitting here thinking about all the surgeries I have had in the last 10 years. I have had my tonsils and adnoids out, my uterus and cervix removed, now my gall bladder and appendix. I don't think there are a whole lot of other "non-essential" organs left in there that they can remove. So here's hoping I can manage to get healthy soon as I am running out of things I can safely give up in there. Seriously what's left? A couple of ovaries, the spleen and 1 kidney.

The surgery went fine but I had to have my appendix out at the same time. Apparently I had a LOT of adhesions on both organs and the surgeon felt they might be the cause of pain I'd been in for months. I go back next Friday for the follow-up and then to decide as well if they are giong to continue with the capsule scan of the small bowel. I have been trying to do a little more everyday but I get worn out and sore pretty quickly still. Went ahead and called in to work this morning since I really don't fell well enough to sit upright for 8 hours yet. Going to try tomorrow though. The bruising around my belly button is starting to go from black and purple to green and purple so that at least is looking a little better. I'm still dealing with the gas though even though I am walking as much as I can possibly manage.

Anyway, I am off to lay down again. Thanks for listening.

WOW! You've had a lot!
Good that they removed your appendix at the same time! Now just do what they said for post-op and feel better soon!

Kahlana you have been through an awful lot ... please walk, rest, relax and don't forget to use that incentive spirometer too.... each day you will feel a bit better ... you know that having been through all the prior surgeries ... the gas can be a monster to deal with but you seem to have a handle on it walking as much as you can manage.  I hope you feel better soon .... Best wishes for a speedy recovery and an uneventful post op period.... (((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) Feel better soon.

Mooksmom and Martitalinda thank you so much for the encouragement. I am taking it as easy as possible while doing as much as I can comfortably get away with doing. I do feel a little better everyday but am also surprised (I don't know why since they did remove 2 organs lol) about how much pain I still am in with this surgery. But the plan is to be as healthy as I can possibly be (within my control) by January when I am hoping to have my surgery!
