Chef Dave - Standing MB input thread...
Also - the point of this particular posting wasn't to promote any membership but was to promote the meal plan that Chef Dave has provided here on this website.
Thanks,
Bo
Hi Eric, thanks for the lengthy reply.
I do remember when I first joined you had some dieticians on their separate forum answer a lot of questions and I found it very very helpful so in that spirit, people sharing their knowledge is great because OH is mostly a lot of newbies. So, I get you on that point.
I think we have seen so many people pretending to be touting a product as a user when they are really selling it that people like me get jaded. One nice thing about OH is it isn't full of constant buy this, buy that posts. If people want to advertise they can buy an ad. So yeah, I'm cynical (even if the post is stickied). That is one of the things I always appreciated about the Unjury guy. He posted as the Unjury guy, no hidden agenda.
About the anally tracking I can only speak for myself. For my first 15 months or so post op I religiously entered all of my food and exercise in Fitday and graphed my weight weekly. While I think it is good as time goes on to check and make sure you are eating as many or as few calories as you think you are eating, I am no longer looking at the pretty graphs of my weight and calories burned. So for me, living my life, trying to exercise and eat right is just about living not about being anal. I'm anal in many other ways.
I think maintenance is about what works for you, I don't know if it is realistic to think someone will enter every morsel of food they eat in a program like fitday for the rest of their lives. But if they do my hat is off to them.
I haven't made it to any of the OH events. Even if you came to Fargo, I don't know if I'd go but obviously Chef Dave is a big hit there and the folks who follow those things know him. Good luck to him and I think everyone knows about the fee for his website now! lol
