Hello.
Thanks for reading my post.
Below is a message relay from Eric Klein, the founder of ObesityHelp.com

---------------------------------

Hello.

For those of you who don't know me (and if so, sorry if I've been too much of a stranger!), I'm the founder of ObesityHelp.com. As you probably know, we've worked with a number of authors and speakers over the years and in order to serve our members better, we're working on increasing interaction oppoprtunities (in both directions) between them and any of our members who might be interested. As we develop our process, this message board post is one route for that.

How many of you know Chef Dave?  He's been a speaker and writer for us. Centers pay him to give cooking demonstrations and he's sold a lot of books. You can see him at any of our events. He's been vetted as a popular speaker and author. For those who do know him, ObesityHelp is offering some additional ways you can interact with him.

1) For starters, you can post comments to any of his articles.  Here is a recent example:

http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/Chef-Daves-Internatio nal-Cuisine.html

If you post there, there's a good chance that he will reply to you, eventually, if not immediately. So, this is an opportunity for you to give him feedback on his stuff.

2) Also, you can post general questions and comments to this post right here (click "reply").
For example...
    1. Any recipes of his that didn't work out for you for any reason?
    2. Any recipes of his that you particularly liked?
    3. Any creative suggestions you might have for him regarding any of my recipes (which I could, of course, run by my dietician)?
    4. Any kinds of meals that you'd like to see any new recipes for?

3) Third, you could do the above, and more, in an ObesityHelp group he started:
www.obesityhelp.com/group/ChefDave/
(and of course, we encourage you or anyone else to start their own group on OH as well).

4) And, of course, come out to any of our events to see him live (but you already knew that):
www.obesityhelp.com/events/

Anyway, if any of you find any of the above to be of value, then great. When I created the byline "Making The Journey Together" for ObesityHelp 12 years ago, I always looked forward to getting interactional value from a wide range of different kinds of people.  I think that one mistake OH has made up until now is failing to extend as much of a sense of inclusion as possible between our members on one hand and our event speakers and magazine authors on the other hand. Many things out there worth paying for, but OH members should not have to (and don't have to) pay to attend an OH event or subscribe to an OH magazine in order to benefit from the educational interaction opportunities our speakers, authors, and advisors have to offer.

Wishing you the best...
Eric Klein

Hello - So if I understand the site correctly, I must pay $24.95 per year for access to your recipes? If not, please advise, as I am unable to access full recipes when I click on a link for ones that peak my interest. Thank you.

It's not just recipes, it's over 500 recipes designed for people like us. It's newsletters, mine and Vicki's Blogs, video tips, the most extensive interactive weight loss surgery grocery list anywhere, and helpful downloads. Coming soon Chef Dave Store membership not required.

The cost of running a site is expensive and I have kept it to about $2.00 a month. The money collected goes for maintenance and enhancements ( My site wa**** with a virus and cost $400.00 to fix 2 weeks ago, people are mean what can I say). I will be starting live cooking shows on my site as soon as the technology is in place estimated time 3months.

Hope this helps...

Yes, thank you for the clarfication!

There are quite a few free sites with bariatric-specific recipes that I (and most OH members) use religiously which contain hundreds upon hundreds of recipes collectively (bariatricfoodie, theworldaccordingtoeggface, etc.).  I think with the economy these days, I will stick with those since I have been using & following  them for so many years and the recipes are divine at no cost to the readers (although donations are accepted, it is not required).

But thanks for the info Chef Dave and good luck to you!  Many of the titles to your food indeed sound really great. :)

I wish you the best in all your choices however it is important to those reading this to know a majority of the recipe found online are not nutritionally analyzed. All Chef Dave recipes are checked by Vicki Bovee MS RD LDS and follow the strictest of guidelines handed down by ASMBS (American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. In addition my recipes are the only recipes to be endorsed by the OAC (Obesity Action Coalition), Walk from Obesity, and ASMBS.

I look at it like this. It's like buying a house not every house is a fit for you and so you keep looking for that perfect house. You have done great with your surgery and wish you nothing but the best.

Cook Smart...
