Hi All,

I have been researching and reading everything that I can on both Band and Sleeve as I have being given the choice to have either. It seems the experience has been different for everyone, so what I want to know is: Why would you choose Band over Sleeve (or vice versa) ??

Help !!!!

I would choose the band if I liked the idead of getting stuck, pbing, vomiting, and having a poor quality of life with a high risk of surgical failure and needing revision later down the road.

Think about how your surgery will affect you in your social life. I assume you are 21 (1990 in username). After surgery you're going to want to have your social life and not be vomitting and feeling left out, because you can't eat like everyone else.

Please do not get banded. They have been proven to be the least effective, and are not safe as advertised.

A sleeve, like a gastric reduction, keeps a fully functioning stomach that is just much smaller. I hope you do more research on this as well as the duodenal switch www.dsfacts.com

Bette!  I don't think I've ever seen you get so darn heated in all the time I've been on OH.  You've got to admit, not many pre ops let alone post ops are as cool and bad ass as you.

I was just answering the OP's question from my perspective. I gave my honest opinion. I don't think that is being arrogant. It would be another story if I went on the band forum and told everyone their life sucks.

Well, when you've HAD a band and experienced BAND LIFE, then you can comment on OUR lives. Under YOUR RULES, am I allowed to now make comments, based on MY perspective, on how DSers are always either sharting themselves, suffering from constant diarrhea and fissures? How's THAT for a great quality of life?

In all honesty Yehuda, you don't have either of the surgeries that the OP asked about.

The sleeve is the restrictive component of the DS.
