Are you scared to have weight loss surgery?
Hi,
You know I have enjoyed reading all these replies. I guess I was older and didn't think about crying. I thought about what the rest of my life was going to be like because I was 63. I love the different prospectives and how all of you were thinking. I was scared but about all kinds of things.
Congratulations to you. You DID it and as you said you have NO regrets. We have to do what is best for ourselves.
Hugs

Yeah I think I wasnt afraid of this life after surgery just the surgery itself and not being concious. I think too at that point I was afraid of the post op pain and nausea. Once I got past the first few hours post op it was nearly smooth sailing. My outlook on my life has completely changed and I am excited about things now and not finding any issues being compliant etc. It feels like I actually have what I need to get my health back

HI,
Take it one day at a time. Be prepared that you may have days where you "stall" no weight loss you just stay the same--that is really normal. I had 9 days in a row during the 1st month where I stalled. This is pretty normal during your weight loss journey. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will start to lose again. Watch the amount of carbs that you eat. And when you can have carbs look for whole grain, NOT whole wheat. I would try to keep my carbs at NO moe thatn 20 total carbs per day and 800 calories per day too. You will find that things you used to like to eat, no longer taste the same or you don't want them. Try to always get your protein in first.
It is all a relearning process and it takes tiny baby steps sometimes to learn it. I still have to remind myself slow down and chew and chew and chew before I swallow. It is more about a lifestyle change. I never think about being on a diet, but more like a lifestyle change.
Congratulations on your WLS and you success that you are going to experience. Stay in touch.
Hugs,
Suzanne

Hey Maria,
Oh, that is me too! Life is a journey. Some of us enjoy the ride, some are bitter about their lives and blame others for what their life is like and most of us try to make the most of our lives.
Being healthy, happy, and knowing that I will maintain my weight forever makes it all worth it. I know it is a BIG step to take. We all come to it in different ways.
We all know that there are risks involved when we make this choice, or at least we should know there are risks involved. I think you educate yourself the best you can, ask all kinds of questions, ask for support and then go for it.
Congratulations on your choice.
Hugs,
Suzanne

Hey,
I have to say you have the best attitude--just love it--you are my kind of lady. You knew what you wanted and you wanted it to start right away. We all deal with things in different ways. I am a pretty independent lady and alway have been. I take things on as they come. I try to think them over and do what is best. We are human and there is no getting around how we deal or don't deal with things.
I see you are having great success. I enjoyed reading what you wrote. I wish you nothing but success in your journey.
Hugs

Suzanne,
Thank you. On my wedding day, my father and were in the vestibule of the church. As we were getting ready to go down the isle, we're laughing and told each other "Let's get the show on the road." He did asked again if it was an open bar and said " Well, I know what we're doing later." We were laughing all the down the isle.
My dad and I know what we want, go after it, and have fun doing it.
Keep the good work. How does it feel to be at goal? I'm going to be there soon and can't wait.

Hi,
It feels great to be at my goal. I go up and down about 5 pounds depending on how much exercise I can get in. I still get on the scales every morning to just keep tabs on things. I love being able to eat pretty much anything and in moderation and small amounts of food.
Life is wonderful. I met Bob 6 years ago this month and he fell in love with me when I was fat. What a wonderful supportive man he has been in my life. He has always loved me for who I am, now it is like having a new lady in his life less 105 pounds. We got married a year ago this month--he always wanted to marry me I was the one who was saying lets wait--then I lost a dear friend and realzied life is short so I said YES lets get married.. So life is pretty GRAND.
Keep going you will hit your goal. You are doing an amazing job.
Hugs,
Suzanne
