Are you scared to have weight loss surgery?

Hi Congratulations to you.  Yes, insurance is a very difficult thing to deal with.  I bet in 5 years it will be a lot better.  In the mean time you did it and you are right the only regret that you didn't do it 20 years ago.

I am very proud of you for doing it.

Very glad to read this post!  I am scheduled less than two weeks away with the VSG.  And I am definitely feeling all of those and more...........
I am more nervous about having complications and putting more stress on my family.  My kids don't know yet what is going to happen, my 12 year old will just worry and be upset.  My husband is just as nervous, he'd rather me be who I am, and I love him for it.  But, I need this for ME!  I want to be involved in my kids lives, I want to put myself back in family photos..........I love to scrabook, and yet I am NOT in there!!  I always say, "well, guess who takes the pictures??"

You are going to be just fine.  It is really normal to over think everything.  You are right your son would worry about you.  Let him see how successful you are then explain the entire operation to him.  You will be amazed about how supportive he will become.

You are doing this at the right time.  You WILL be involved in their lives and be in the pictures instead of taking them

You will NOT have any complications.  But if you have any questions after the surgery or about food items, or that you just want to talk.  I am here every step of the way for you.

The first month  is the hardest to do, and it is a relearning process of how we think and the liquid diet that you NEED to do the 1st month is just boring.  So have a little patience and ask questions.  That is what this board is all about.

Hi God, nice to meet you. Thank you for predicting our futures and guaranteeing us no complications from a serious surgery. I appreciate the peace of mind. I will skip Church on Sundays and just hang out on OH from now on.

I appreciate your wisdom as someone who is further out, but I mean...please do not tell people they will not have complications. While maybe rare, they do happen, and people should be informed about all of the possibilities.

You know what you are right.  From now on I will always tell everyone that with every surgery there is a chance of complications.  We ALL run the risk of something happening when we make the choice or need to have any surgery of any kind.

On the other side, you could learn a few lessons in how to say how you feel without being the sarcastic and rude person you appear to be.  I feel sorry that you feel the need to attack me when YOU feel I didn't say it the way you wanted it delivered. 

I wish you great success in your weight loss journey. This should be about helping people on this board not putting me down for NOT doing it your way.

You have a lot to learn about people skills.  Grow up.  I will over look this and just consider that something else was going on in your life that made you want to strike out at me.

Thanks for you comment.  I can only speak about what I know.  I have only had one doctor who I feel was the very best for me when it came to my choice of WLS. I know there are other doctors out there, but I know what worked best for me.  Just like you know what is best for you. 

She was rude and NEVER said a word about Dr. Aceves.  And they have this button that allows you to block me.  If what I say seems to bother  or upset you I am sorry your are offend by it, but just block me I am fine with that. Or make the choice NOT to read my posts.  

We are here to support each other--Not pick at each other.   You have a right to make a comment just like I do.  I speak from my heart and have for over 3 years about how I feel about WLS and who did my surgery. Why does it offend you that I speak about Dr. Aceves?  I am not the only one on this site who feels he is an excellent surgeon.
