What are you thankful for after having WLS?

Hi,

Great things to be thankful for.  I used to think I looked ok too.  I do have problems sleeping still.  I think maybe it is my age, because soooooo many of my friends have the same issues.  I enjoyed reading ALL the things that you are thankful for.  Life sure is great after WLS.

Hugs,
Suzanne

I am thankful for... smaller clothes. feet that aren't swollen. joie de vivre instead of laziness. a body that gets up and goes.

Hi,

Smaller clothes are nice and it is fun to go shopping.  When you body doesn't hurt it is fun to be able to move easier and exercise and just get your life back again.  Congratualtions to you.

Hugs,

There are a  lot of things I really enjoy now that I couldn't do for years.  Such as:  being able to shop in a regular store and finding really cute cloths on the clearance rack,  being able to fit in airplane and roller coaster ride seats,  knowing that I've reduced or eliminated health issues such as diabetes,  heart disease, and  blood pressure, being able to enjoy my life.  The last part is that  I'm in control of my destiny, not somebody else. Oh, I forgot something.  Standing up for myself and not backing for when someone acts like a jerk about my life.

Hi,

YES, YES standing up for yourself and not letting someone walk all over you!  We do become much strong in many ways once we have had WLS.  There isn't anything that we can't do if we want it bad enough.  You are doing a GREAT job.  Keep up the great work.

Hugs,
Suzanne

Hi,

I am always thinking of ways that WLS has changed my entire life.  I am here to motivate others and cheer them on and say to them, you can do this too and be successful.

I'm glad I no longer have that pos band in me anymore!!!

In any group of a hundred people, there are probably 2 or 3 sociopaths.  In a group of a thousand, more like 20-30.  They function very well in "affinity groups," where people have things in common and tend to trust strangers.  I am NOT saying not to trust anyone.  I AM saying that there are probably two dozen sociopaths hanging out here and looking for victims.  Most are NOT serial killers.
