What are you thankful for after having WLS?

·        The first thing I am so thankful for is Dr. Aceves. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe this wonderful gifted doctor who did my surgery.

·
I still am shocked when someone calls me skinny—I thought who me skinny no way? But, it was me they were calling skinny.

·
I am so thankful for my great healthy.

·
The best part of about this weight loss surgery is that I NEVER feel hungry. I have to remind myself to eat.

·
Hold on to your hats because this is going to be the ride of your life.

·
I know I will never be fat again in my life. I thanked Dr. Aceves for what he did for me and he said “I only gave you the tool to achieve your Weight Loss, give yourself the credit for making it work." I still want to say Dr. Aceves you are the BEST!

·
I take only about 10% of the meds that I used to take before WLS.

·
I love walking in to any clothing store and knowing I can buy clothes that will fit me.

·
My family is so proud of me for doing this.

·
When someone doesn’t recognize me because I have lost 105 pounds!!!I love it when then figure out who I am—then they have a million questions for me as to how did I lose the weight.

·
After 2 ½ years to have people say WOW you still look great and have not gained anything back

·
Most of all being able to support new people who are thinking about WLS and telling them about my journey and answering their questions. Talking with them about their fears. And then seeing them have great success like I have had.

after only two months, i'm thankful that i can tie my shoes without a huge ordeal.
Already, i no longer feel like i'm the fattest person in the room.
Every time i fill a bag with clothes to give away, its a symbol of my accomplishment.
I'm starting to feel pretty again.
My mom tells me she's proud of me.
My kids tell me I look good.

I'm thankful that i'm healthier already, and that feeling is only going to get better.

You have accomplished a lot in 2 months.  And it will just keep getting better every month.  I am so happy for you.  It is amazing how this WLS does change our entire life.  I loved giving away the clothes too.

Hugs,
Suzanne

I'm thankful for many of the things already mentioned, but mostly for my health.  I feel good.  I don't have high blood pressure any more - that was resolved immediatly with the surgery.  My knees, ankles and feet don't prevent me from doing the things I enjoy or even walking across the hall in pain.  So many things...

Hi,

Having good health again is the # 1 thing I am sure I am the most thankful for.  With out good health, none of the other stuff matters.  Just keep going and doing what you are doing.  It just gets better month after month.  The closer you get to your goal the harder it is to lose the weight. So don't give up.

Hugs,
Suzanne

I am thankful I am off insulin.  I feel better, I can cross my legs again, I dont eat to self medicate, I dont have to eye the chair before I sit in it, I can fit into a booth or airplane seat, I feel feminine, I can tuck my shirt in, I can wear a belt, I can walk for miles, ect ect ect.  maria

That is a BIG thing being off insulin--Yeah!.  I have a few friends who are scared to have WLS.  But they want what I have and they want to llok like I look--I just don't know what to tell them.  And they are on insulin and they will never be off it because they will not change their lifestyle.

You have done something really amazing for yourself, and you will never have any regrets.  And to feel feminine again--that is wonderful.  These are small things for some people, but for you an I they are BIG.

Hugs, and take care,
Suzanne

You look fantastic.  I used to walk by a mirror and it was a shock to see myself thin.

I thought wow that is me in that mirror.  It took me over two years to get used to seeing how much I changed.  I still don't think of myself as skinny, but compared to were I was and where I am, I am skinny.

Enjoy your day,
Hugs,
Suzanne

I am thankful, first, for this chance to say what I'm thankful for!! :D

My ability to move, move, move!!!  Hike, swim, walk, run, bike, climb steps, etc.!! It's great!

Looking so much better, even though I THOUGHT I looked ok before, what a difference in pictures!

No more sleep apnea. YES! I can sleep through the night, and my cats aren't batting the machine hose all night long!! :D

Knowing I'll live longer now and be able to spend quality time with my family, (unless a bus gets me crossing the street of course) :D
