Just want to know if it's better to use water or skim milk for protein shakes?

I would like to know as well! My husband and I are having a great debate over this because he likes some of our protein shakes with milk and I might frist thought its better to drink it with water? But I don't know...

It depends.  If you are, or become, lactose intolerant then of course milk isn't a good idea unless it is lactaid.  I watch my carbs so I usually have low carb milk because it has the protein.  I really don't like chocolate or vanilla type shakes made with water so if I don't have them with milk I use almond milk.  It is low in calories and makes the shakes thicker and creamier.  Not a lot of protein, though.

Milk tends to make me bloated so I use NSA organic soy milk, I really like the flavor and it has less carbs and calories in it than skim milk, however it does have more fat calories. I just want to make sure that I'm not over doing it by using skim or soy milk for my shakes.

I used milk in the beginning as I was low low calorie.

Now that I can eat more I use water... But I've also had to switch to different shakes to make that more palattable.  Right now I'm on a Syntrex kick.  Yum to Lemonade and Grapefruit!!!  Reallllllly got sick of vanilla and chocolate after a while.

I use water in mine because I really can't tell the difference, so I figure why take the extra calories.

I think it's a personal choice, so you should drink it anyway that suits you best.

I USE SKIM PLUS MILK... GIVES 11 EXTRA GRAMS OF PROTEIN... IS 80 CAOLRIES A HUGE DIFFERENCE... unless you are lactose intolerant... but that's just ME

Personally, I have tried making shakes (with a variety of powders/flavors) using water, and I find them to be undrinkably disgusting. I don't want all the carbs that come with regular milk, so I use unsweetened almond milk or, if I can't find that, Hood Calorie Countdown milk (milk made with Splenda).

I only drank them for the first 3 months but it was skim milk all the way for me.
I needed the extra calories and protein.

I think it is a matter of preference.
