My son is getting married this summer, and this is the dress I've chosen for the very same reasons:

I feel your pain.  My fiance and I have been engaged for quite some time now, and I still haven't gone shopping for dresses because.... well, you know why.  The advantage WE have is that we live in Vegas and can forego this whole wedding dress thing by letting Elvis marry us.  Hell, at this point, I may just wear the infamous rhinestone Elvis suit... it WOULD cover my wings... AND it's white!

When I got married (over 30 years ago) I was not MO but did not like my arms. My dress had cap sleeves and the seamstress sewed on a sheer sleeve with a nice cuff that matched the dress.

Strapless is the prevalent style? Since when? There are a bazillion marvelous wedding dress styles out there with sleeves and/or jackets, and they will be far more prevalent now that Kate Middleton rocked a fabulously classy wedding look.

If you can't find a ready made dress you like, do what I did and have a dressmaker make one especially for your body.

Actually, with the royal wedding happening so recently, wedding dresses with sleeves will most likely be very prevalent. And if not, I'm sure that a lot of the dress shops would be happy to order in some.

I lost 100 lbs and I wore strapless and ROCKED it even though i obviously felt more COMFORTABLE in a bolero
