So I was looking for the kitchen scale and found (sealed in an airtight container) some seaweed powder I had gotten about a year ago when I tried doing a cleanse. This is the nutrition info I found about it and am wondering if anyone knows anything about how or even if it is something that helps after wls?
Crude Protein- 8.5%
Crude Fiber- 4.0%
Fat- 2.0%
Carbohydrates- 47.5%
Calcium- 2.1%
Sodium- 4.0%
Potassium- 2.7%

ETA: I was using it for flavoring as opposed to table salt (trying to cut back on my sodium intake and all that)

might depend on the surgery you get. I don't see any particular problem with it if you had a VSG.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

What's the serving size?

Frankly, for the first several months post-op, you don't need to be eating ANYTHING that has 47.5 grams of carbs for only 8.5 grams of protein. That's a ration of almot 6 to 1!!! You need to be looking at foods where protein is the HIGHEST number.

The little scoop is about a teaspoon. And thanks for the reminder about the carb/protein ratio.
