Since we began at the same time (my site went up 7/98 and his 10/98), we were talking about his start. Altho he's given me the short version (web site as college project), last summer, he was working for the early version of geeks. I forget. But he was asked to develop a web site for one of those first Programs, Weight for Life. And who was he making it for? MY DOC?!! How could I not know this?

So, he liked my doc fine and Dr. Fox is a great salesman and explainer of the impossible, so he was able to find the correct note to turn Eric onto US and who we are and why we are, etc. True, it engaged the geek part of his brain more than other parts, but that's ok. I mean, looky what he did? And yes, he makes money at it, but it is now what he does?

We were bemoaning all the mistakes people like us make in early business. He's a geek, give him the techie stuff and someone else handle everything else. I'm all about after care, nutrition, how to make this life work, and don't try to get stuff about taxes and all that into my head. No room, no interest.

Very interesting discussion. As many times as we've talked, I had no idea Dr. Fox was his first contact with our world. At least, his charm is contagious. Coulda been some hideously arrogant doc and Eric mighta said, no thanks. He'd be in another field and we'd be OH-less!

Not perfect, but what is? We don't have to have suffered cancer to have our hearts go out to those who do, right?
