I had my surgery on Monday and got home from the hospital bout 8 last night.  I actually feel much better today and think I may survive. LOL  However, this gas is just about to get the best of me.  My abdomin is just rumbling and rolling.  If I could take a pin and stick it in my stomach, I think it would explode.  Any suggestions to help with this?  Also, how long was it after your surgery before you had a bowel movement?  My doctor said my surgery went great but they had a time getting my band out so that is going to make me a little more sore.  Moving and walking as much as possible and trying to going as light as possible on the pain meds.

for the gas..........just walk, walk, walk.
not much else can be done, its from the bypass, but it will pass......if it gets too bac, call your doctor.
sometimes very warm broth will help it settle down.
good luck and Congrats!..........Melody

Body movement helps eliminate surgical gas and it's discomfort.  Walking is generally the easiest movement for early post ops.  DAVE
