Beautiful evening, went for a walk (small rant)
The sweet baboo and i went for a walk to our local video store... 1 mile there, 1 mile back. It was a very slow walk but i am paying for it now nonetheless. I am so anxiously awaiting seeing my PCP on Friday and wishing like crazy that I didn't have to wait until May 11th to see the GI. I feel guilty hoping someone cancels so I can get in sooner but this is getting ridiculous. My tummy is cramped, hard, hot and I look VERY pregnant however much that it is impossible. I can not take a deep breath without feeling like my ribs are pressing my lungs flat. This is just so grrrrrrrrrrrrr!! And I am frustrated that getting seen is taking so long. I feel like when I was a kid and I would fall and run to my mom and she would say "Is anything bleeding, broken, or sticking out where it shouldn't be? No? then you are fine. Go play"
Anyway, I know that whatever it is it is not an emergency obviously or I would be crawling on hands and knees to the ER if I had to. But I am just tired.

MyLadyHiedi, oh yes everything is fine in that area (much as it can be for someone with IBS anyway) This has been going on for almost a month now and I have been on prescription stuff for GERD and all that to see if maybe that was the problem. I have had blood work done and a CT Scan and everything came back "fine" according to my PCPs nurse....soooooo I wait to meet with the GI and find out where to go from there. I am not in so much pain that I need to go to the ER, I just pop some Aleve and lay with a heating pad on it for a while.
I'm personally very confused, as you are pre-op. I don't really understand what problems you are having and your history with this issue.
If you could go into a little more detail, that may be helpful.
Unless you just wanted to rant without getting advice. I am sorry about the wait for getting in to a doctor. It is always very frustrating being a new patient. Hopefully it will get better for you after you become established with a doctor.

My history in a nutshell is that I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and every once in a while my upper abdomen would get hot, swollen and hard,.especially if I over did it with my walking or whatever. I walk nearly everywhere (or rather did up until about 4 weeks ago) but it wasn't anything too painful more just uncomfortable. Then last month we had some seriously gorgeous weather here and I really couldn't resist being outside in the sun and so walked to work (1.25 mile there) and walked home 8 hours later (1.25 miles again). I walked at a normal pace.. more of a stroll really since I was admiring the warmth, however by the time I got home I had horrible cramps that went from under my left breast , all the way across my stomach to my mid right abdomen (just about where the kidneys are). I put up with it for 3 days and finally got in to see my pcp. Thats when she ordered the blood work and CT Scan and said she was checking for looped bowel (since I had an organ removed there was a space to fill), my gall bladder or severe constipation but since everything was fine in that area i'm not sure why she checked for it but she did. Needless to say when everything came back clear and normal she put me on Previcid or Prilosec (I cant remember which one but its the bupropion one) for a week to see if that helped things at all. Nope nothing, didnt even help with my normal heartburn I get if I eat something a little acidic (like pickles.. a weakness I pay for).
So yes i am "whinging" a bit because I am frustrated and feeling a little neglected by the medical community at large (overly dramatic music inserted here). However I am also very open to suggestions if anyone else has experienced this sort of thing. I told my BF that i figured its just my fat hollering at me for trying to get rid of it... he didn't seem to think that was very amusing... no sense of humor that man. :D

I cant imagine any doctor making you wait to see someone that long given the description. I would call around to see if you could see someone else. Also going to an urgent care that is attached to a hospital with all of the equipment necessary for a good diagnosis is a place to start.
I dont mess around when it comes to my health... I would make many calls and show up if I had to.
