Weight loss Surgery diets

It might, if you are describing the sleeve.  I hope it does...I'd like my sister to have that procedure.

But don't let anyone fool you into thinking that your stomach thinks it's satisfied with the band.  What is feels like is that you have an obstruction...AND that your stomach is empty.

It may be an option for you.  Have you tried dieting to lose weight?  WLS should be your last option IMO but realize that around 5-10% of those that diet keep it off (major weight loss) so the numbers aren't favorable if you've tried dieting for years like many of us only to lose and regain with a few extra lbs added.

Good luck!

At most my "dieting" has consisted of quitting soda, chips, candy, dark meat, limiting red meat to venison, no pork, small pieces of foods like birthday cake and/or pies when at family functions, switching to whole grain breads instead of white and brown rice instead of white rice, and limiting fried foods to my fried chicken or fish maybe once every 3 months.
I have tried diet pills (OTC ones) and found the only that helped me lose weight was the original Dexetrim. (The one they don't make any more.) Also was on the Weigh Down diet for a while as well as TOPS, couldn't do Weigh****chers or Nutrisystem or some of the more spendy diets because of limited income. I have a really hard time with most of these "diets" though because usually the recommended foods are already foods I eat. Green veggies, raw veggies, lean meats, fresh fruits... all stuff I know is healthy and good for me. I also only use canola oil or olive oil to cook with and try to be careful not to overdo it with those as well. So seriously, I don't think my food choices are the problem. As I stated in my intro post I am a very active person normally even though I am sitting at a desk 8 hours a day. I usually walk to and from that desk since it is a mile one way. I also hunt, fish, hike, and help haul and chop the wood we use to heat the house with. I also garden and ride my bike as frequently as possible. Up until I had my hysterectomy 2 years ago I had no problems with taking off the extra winter weight. Then i was put on Lyrica a couple of months before my surgery and gained 40 pounds and after the surgery gained another 27. Now nothing I have tried is working and seriously I don't know what to do. I can't afford a gym membership and seriously I can only "work out" for so many hours in a day. I'm just frustrated I guess. I know I don't have the willpower to stick to such a strict diet on my own. But I keep wishing lol

Honestly don't you think that almost all of us who have had wls did every diet out there?  WLS is a tool in which we use with our diet plans.  Since you hate surgery then I suggest you stay on one of the diet plans if that works for you.  I had vsg 3/16/10 and as of today have lost 112 lbs which I would have never lost without my wls.  I have done every diet known and nothing has worked like my vsg.  Don't knock it until you try it!!

Oh I am definitely not knocking it. I am just scared of surgery. (Like what if I don't wake up from the anesthesia? What if something goes wrong and I die? What if after the surgery I can't stick to the diet? What if after the surgery I still can't lose the weight? What if I have the hanging skin all over and my insurance doesnt pay for the surgery to help with that? I am the worrywart "champ-een of the woild" here.)
yes I completely understand that this is sort of like a last resort as opposed to going on yet another diet or joining yet another gym. i was thinking about all the diets I have been on. I didn't realise until I started thinking about it that I really have tried a lot of them. And I did well on most of them too until I got sick or moved to a new place or started a new job or went through a divorce or a death. It wasn't that I ate more, it was that I stopped moving for a while and once I did that the weight came back. Although, I have to admit that this last time it wasnt because I stopped moving so much as the weight brought on by the medications.
I'm like the ladies in the old movies I think. Always fainting at the slightest hint of something wrong. Except I don't faint I just get overly dramatic about it. lol
More than likely when I meet with my doc at the end of the month I will just suck it up and tell her to go for it. Let's do this and get me healthy again. And then while I am waiting for approval I will go all out and do what I can on my end to make my recovery as good as I can and will learn how to cook for a new me :D

Have you read much about the DS? My post-DS 'eating plan' involves eating 2500-3000 calories a day---but thanks to my DS, I only absorb less than half of them. No WAY that would have worked for me "without" surgery---hell, that's how I GOT fat in the first place! (*grin*)
