OT: Raise your hand for PLANNED PARENTHOOD
As I said in the LapBand forum I myself sought the help of planned parenthood when I was 15. I was counseled and I was told what my choices were. Not at any time was one choice pushed on me. They spent time explaining each choice and gave me brochures on adoption and even guided me on where to go to get state aid for health coverage if I decided to keep the baby (because obviously I didn't have a medical plan). In my case I decided to keep my baby and planned parenthood was there to help me make that decision. I don't understand why people think they push you into abortions. I was very undecided and needed to have it all explained to me and made an informed decision.
I love it when pro-lifers are against Planned Parenthood. Do they have any idea how many abortions PP prevents?! They provide birth control and information to the poor, young or embarrassed. They teach the information that parents are too naive to pass on to their children. PP is a necessity in a country with so many unwanted children. ***** about about the number of children on welfare, but don't give people help in preventing pregnancy. That makes sense.
Pink!
I raised my hand Bette... I don't believe in abortion, personally, but don't think I should tell anyone else to do either. I am so glad that planned parenthood was around when I needed them- for birth control and other female issues, not for an abortion.. but I am also glad I would have had that CHOICE if I wanted it.
I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!
"People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within." - Ramona L. Anderson
