Why did he contact you?  Is his show in NY?  He needs to do a show on all the surgeries, devote an entire show to it.

Thanks for your post.  Yes, his show is taped in NY.   His producer found me on OH on the NY forum and noted that I am a support group leader with 2 large groups on Long Island and asked for my assistance.

I chatted with his producer and suggested the same thing.  I even told him between my two groups I'd be able to fill his audience....lol.  Hoping that they contact me for that soon!

I believe this segment was done solely on the lap band because of the new lower BMI required.
fyi..., one doctor did note the many complications that some lap banders go through as post ops.

Im glad Robin pointed out that Jackie was eating a soft food diet. At 6 months out Jackie should NOT be eating a soft food diet unless she was having complications.  Jackie should be eating protein. Yogurt, clear broth, and pudding is something you only eating in recovery or if you are getting stuck, PBing, or having severe reflux issues.  I think having Jackie on the show did a huge disservice to those researching. Jackie's diet is very atypical of a SUCCESSFUL bandster. In fact Lapbanders are warned to AVOID soft slider foods.  She blew it as a guest.

Robin looked amazing and I'm so glad she was upfront and honest about the struggle and that having the band was WORK and not a cure all.  She is one bandster who earned every pound lost. She is definately a band rock star!

Great depiction of how banded life really is from early post op to years out, I am still happy and complication free with my band going on 6 years.
