You know, I wonder if all of us post-ops become obsessed with food after surgery? You know, obsessed in a good way. The first month out I was only watching that channel, ask me why and I don't know. Now I watch it all the time, before surgery not so much. It also does not bother me, I don't crave any of the food but instead appreciate the work it takes to make a good meal. My favorite shows are: Iron Chef (I got my whole family into it) Unwrapped and Top 5.

I got into watching the food network courtesy of Tooter, ( she is post-op ). I like "Good Eats". Alton Brown is quirky, fun and informative.

Oh MY!!!!!! While I was out of work, immediately after surgery, Food Network was all that I wanted to watch. I don't find myself longing for the food, but I did enjoy watching it. Still enjoy it when I have the time to tune it in. Unwrapped is my favorite, then I love to watch Paula Deans. Talk about the wrong show for post ops. LOL!

OK Ken, Obviously an Excellent post! I was always addicted to food, but now that my WLS has taken care of that, I'm still addicted to cooking. We entertain a lot and I love cooking huge meals for a party of 20 or more. All the while I was recuperating (Extreme complications 2 months in a recliner) I watched Food Network constantly. Now that I'm back up and running I still watch and try new twists on the dishes I see there. My wife also asked me why I would torture myself. It doesn't make me hungry to watch, it's just fun. I Love Mario Batali, for everything he cooks, Bobby Flay's Southwest fusion, Alton Brown, for his quirky Science experiment take on cooking, Rachael Ray, who I believe I could beat in a side by side speed test, (I'm a fast cook), Sara Moulton for all of the helpful hints on Sara's Secrets, Tyler Florence, just a bit, some times he comes off as a little ****y, And Iron Chef is hysterically funny to me. There is still the History Channel and those of us who watch Trading Places- Another time- Dx

I watched it constantly early postop - favs were unwrapped and anything with Jaques Torres (dessert chef). Now I still watch, but not nearly as often. It really helped with head hunger. Weird

Am I the only person on the planet who doesn't care for Alton Brown??? I love the Food Network and watch it constantly. I'm hooked on the Iron Chefs not because I think that I would care for the foods they make but because they are so creative in such a short amount of time. I have to admit..seeing those poor creatures hacked to bits gets to me sometimes! And why the hell do they leave the heads on?????

Iron Chef is great! They do some of the most amazing things with what they are given. Mr. Brown is funny - I think. Never take him to serious. Maybe with a grain of "kosher" salt?
