For God's sake, researchers!!!!!!

Can one of you clowns get a grant or something to do a study on long-term bandsters that involves more than a HANDFUL of people?? I'm sick or reading "Debbie Downer" reports about how much the band sucks based on 200 patients and now 80-something patients.

WTF? With all the hundreds of thousands of bands installed worldwide, THIS is the research that people are supposed to base their WLS decisions on? For Christ's sake, we've got more than 80 people in this BAND FORUM! It's not like you can't FIND anyone and - despite beliefs to the contrary - they can't ALL have been removed!

actually it's not just the lap band (i've seen the same stuff for RNY and DS). But I agree someone needs to be doing some actual research on these procedures.

Agreed. And while they're at it, let's try to get doc to agree on stuff that even THEY can't agree on:

- post op diet stages. Why are they all so different?
- soda/carbonation.  Yes, no, sometimes, never?
- caffeine. yes, no, sometimes, never?

Yep! Wish we could at least get a consistant message from our Dr's. A firm stance on SOMETHING is better than all the wishy washy hemming and hawing they do!

Can you tell me where I can find cons about the DS?? I am researching a revision. All I have heard are good things about the DS, besides the vitamin dependency and the extent of the surgery. Thanks
