I had the same problem when I was fat and still have now that I am not. Pluss I have no butt. I think I dropped in a parking lot somewhere, but I can't find my ass.

BMI has never shown the full story with me and like you, waist height ratio is still not. I look like a sausage on toothpicks, too.

Highest weight: 212.8 Current weight 135 Lost 77.8 pounds

I never know what's going on with my ass since I never look back there. hope it's OK.  I just really really liked having a waist for the first time in forever and I want it BACK.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I heard someone on the radio the other day who said that "they" have now concluded that fat is just fat, no matter where it is---that apple, pear, or fat all over, makes no difference. So I've decided to stop worrying about my spare tire. (*grin*)

And I agree with Erma Bombeck---my waist is where the crease is when I bend over.

hmm, do you remember who "they" were? because I thought it was pretty established that stress increases cortisol and that makes any extra fat go right in the middle. I think it is true for me, anyway.

and I repeat: I had a waist and I want it back. I will have it back, it'll happen. I may go so far as to exercise!

Nope, sorry---I was just driving along and came in in the middle. I *think* it was on the Mike Huckabee Report, but where HE got the info---I'm not sure he even said.

I was reading about Cushing's disease the other day, and one symptom is having thin arms and legs, but a fat middle, and it's definitely related to excess cortisol. I didn't have any of the other symptoms---just a fat middle.

I think mine's genetic---I'm shaped exactly like my grandmother.

easy way to get a waist is to get a proper bra fitting.

i can care less where my 34Gs land after the armor is off, but while properly hoisted - i get my waist back.

For years I made practice and competition skating dresses for DD and friends.  To define the waist height and adjust the body length, we'd loop a string around the girl at about mid-torso, and then have her bend left and right.  Where it landed was the waist.  There was HUGE variation between who had more lower torso (crotch to waist) and who had more upper torso (shoulders to waist).  I still know most of those girls (in their mid-20's now), and the pattern of body build they had as kids is pretty much still how they're built.

So Erma Bombeck had it right - in this as in so many other things!

This stuff is confusing. I am extremely slim but my BMI is slightly ( less than 1%) in the overweight range. These medical people need to make up their mind.
