Tape Residue - I can't get it off!!!!

I had my surgery on 7/19. The first week I didn't much care about the tape residue all over my belly and arms. This week, I have been going nuts trying to get it off! I started off with alcohol, and that didn't do a thing. Then I tried mineral oil, then olive oil...and NOTHING!! Some of the residue is along my staple line, but on the rest of my body I'm very tempted to use GooGone.... Anyone have any suggestions before I go to the extreme and use my GooGone????? Nancy

hi nancy dont use the googone, it kind of burns if you dont wa**** off right away. the home health care nurse gave me some little towellets that take off the residue. its called Uni-Solve, call your doctor and ask him where to get some, this takes off the adhesive residue fast Donna

Nancy, I was in the hospital for about 5 weeks and was about 10% tape residue when I can home. I went for the nail polish remover and in some spots did use the Goo-Gone. Just wash well with soap and water afterwards and use moisturizer or lotion to keep the spot from getting to dry or damaged. Dx

Wonder if wD40 would work? No, I'm not being silly. I know it works for price tags and stuff on glass... maybe (although I wouldn't try it near the staple line, unless you're healed..) Melissa

I hate tape residue. I avoid bandaids after bloodwork as often as I can. I usually bruise from those anyway (but its not an allergy to the bandaid, just irritation from the tape). Good to know nail polish remover works!! Melissa
