Drink your protein. Some people lose none, others need a wig. Most lose a bit, not enough for anyone else to notice.

You can't do anything to stop it. It's the trauma of surgery and anesthesia and the initial starvation period. People will tell you protein, vitamins, hair and nails, but my surgeon said it won't totally prevent the hair loss. The good news is that it grows back. The amount varies with people. Linda

All I can offer is my own personal experience. I have a LOT of hair...and was worried about losing any of it, too. It started falling out around 3 months post-op and didn't stop until 7 months post-op. I lost approx. 1/3 of my volume! But, the only two who noticed were me and my hairdresser. I am now 15 months post-op and I've got regrowth like you wouldn't believe! If you are blessed with a headfull of hair-you'll do fine, I think people with thin hair to begin with have more to worry about. I bought some "hair and nail" vitamins that smelled so bad I couldn't take 'em so if I were you I'd save my money on treatments and remedies...it'll grow back and you'll be just fine. ~Beth - 1/2 the woman
