What is Potted Meat?

I'm with you, girl! I ate my weight in it throughout my childhood and LOVED it. (Must have been a Southern after school favorite, along with shoestring potatoes in a can!) Now I'd feel bad if it was all I could get to feed my cats! How did we eat -and love -that nasty stuff. They say your tastes change every seven years and my ability to eat potted meat left me about 3 -4 of those cycles ago!

Potted meat is dog food for humans. Yuck pooey imho.

Not goint to reveal my thoughts about potted meat...But - so glad, Kim, that you posted this, as I have been wondering if it could be eaten... (YEPH - I am going to eat it....NEVER was allowed to eat it when I was growing up - along w/ hot dogs - and that might explain why I LOVE it. NOT potted meat - but the deviled ham, chicken, and beef stuff!)

I have never had Potted Meat, I guess that comes with growing up in New York. I feel as if I should run to the store and get some. You guys have me craving the stuff. You guys are a riot.
