I am 21 days post op. I'm so excited that tomorrow I get to start soft food. I don't think I've ever been so excited about a scrambled egg and some cottage cheese in all my life. I've been following posts very closely, ok I'm addicted to them, and I've seen some suggestions for soft food stage. I've seen several times "potted meat" and I'm not sure what that is? I'm thinking that it's meat in the crock pot but I'm not sure. If not what is it and if it is what is suggested types of meat and how do you cook it. Thanks for the help! Kim

When I hear that expression, I think of canned meat, like deviled ham. I think any kind of soft, tender, chopped (maybe even blended if necessary). I found the chunks of canned tuna or chicken were too big so I gave it a whirl in the food processor for a few seconds. RK

That was pretty much going to be my response. It's what they do with the leftover Fancy Feast that my cat won't eat. I think it's more fat than meat too.

meow, meow (I love deviled ham) there are other things I wouldn't eat with someone else's mouth however. Becky

Deviled ham, canned corned beef (a favorite of mine!), canned chicken, etc. It's usually a smoother consistency than most traditional 'canned' meat as it's been ground fine
