HI EVERYONE.
This is going to be so hard for me to say.
here it goes................. I had the band done 1 year and 1 month ago.
After surgery something happened.. i went through a horrible depression and became scared that i started to lose weight. I know to many this may sound odd. I started canceling all my fill apt because i was embarrassed.to say i was so unhappy
I  starting going to therapy and really working on my emotions and came to the conclusion that a year ago and one month may not have been my time to start my journey.
So I'm asking any advice I'm ready for a fill and start the process but have not seen or even heard (dont they call )from my Dr

. Dr pohl did my surgery.I no they see tons of patients daily. I am just so embarrassed that i had surgery and i have no positive results.

Don't be ashamed.  You see now that you need help to cope with your weight loss and that's a step in the right direction.  Never be embarrassed to admit that you are unhappy.  Reach out to whomever you can to get the help you need and look forward.  Try not to get stuck in those feelings of despair.  I wish you all the best on your journey.  BIg Hugs!

They will just be happy you came back. After my surgeon told me how much weight to lose before surgery I didn't go bac****il I lost it because I was embarrassed. I know now that was my issue, not theirs. Best of luck and be brave, you will feel much better after you go because you won't be thinking about going all the time and being anxious about it.

The FIRST step is always the hardest.  You had to take a FIRST step in order to get your surgery, just try to muster up the same kind of courage to take THIS STEP too.  You are probably more bothered by this than anyone at the doctor's office.  BEST OF LUCK TO YOU.

Don't be ashamed or embarrassed. With some surgeries, some weight may come off just because of the surgery but with the band, everything depends on how we use it. You have not been able to use your band because of your depression and worries - your doc will understand this and will help you.

Make an appointment to see him; be totally honest. Then you can start to use your band.

You will get more replies from banded people if you go on the lapband forum; both Realize and Lapband people use that but many of them never come on this board.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Erin I also have a problem with depression and had had a gastric bypass back in 2006.  I have gained 25 pounds back and have been eatin wrong food and not getting my protein.  Please call Doctor Pohl's office and let them know what is going on because they will be more than happy to get you back on track.  I have called my bariactric surgeon and he has referred me back to a weight loss support group that is linked to his office as well his dietician to get me back on track.  Good luck and let me know how you do. You are in my prayers.  beckybrunner

Erin --

We are 'ready' when we are 'ready' ----- no shame in that.

Please schedule an appointment -- and tell your doctor exactly what you said here.  You needed some time to adjust to the physical and emotional changes that the band made and you are ready to start getting fills.

Take it slowly --- you can do it!!!!

is there a WLS support group near you? Maybe talking with someone who understands, face to face, can help you make that first step to call the dr's office. Is there someone from this board who can help you, maybe go to the appointment with you, just to be there and support you.
