Whey after taste - what can kill it?

Hi everyone!!
I think I have found a protein that I can palate - but the dreaded whey after taste is messing up my success.   What can I do to stop that taste??

I can't do vanilla, choc, strawberry milkshake kinda protein because it makes me gag - so I tried Nectar fruity tasting ones and can drink it (yay!) - in a cup with lid and a straw and lots of ice so I don't smell it.   I can do that but that after taste....

I don't want to mess this up - does anyone have any suggestions??

Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with catsup!

How do you make your shakes?

Drink water to get rid of the after taste. Also sipping them slower may help as well.

Gin will usually do the trick!!!

Funny!
I was tasting the fuzzy naval one and Vodka - Belvedere straight up - is my favorite....

Hmm... the possibilities!

 Hi, Val:

I sometimes substitute Non-Fat Greek Yogurt in Shakes. A cup of it has 20 protein grams and roughly 100 calories. If you water it down and add some flavoring or a bit of fruit, it is really quite pleasant.  As you adjust to your revision, you can eat it without thinning it out.

I have come to the conclusion that protein powders are  necessary for me. I don't have to love them, I just use them for my health.

I use Matrix  Brand Chocolate  or Cookies and Cream flavored these days .  The aftertaste and smell doesn't seem to bother me. I find them tastier than most i have tried. Have you tried them yet?

Good luck, Pam

For me I found that half a banana in the whey protein takes away most if not all of that awful after taste, Apple does it too but not as well.

Adding coffee does it for me!! Hot or cold. Decaff or regular! Good luck!

Thanks to everyone *****plied.  I will have to try some of the suggestions!  And, I drink coffee ALL the time so that is a good one too!

I swear today I am still tasting the whey....

Is that the only kind of protein we should seek out?  I am not sure if there are any other options...?

I am going to keep researching :)

I've had trouble with whey protein since my surgery (DHR every 15 mins for about 5 hours after drinking it that would make it impossible for me to do anything productive).  I ordered Jay Robb Egg white protein and received yesterday.  I made a shake this morning and no aftertaste!  actually, I couldn't taste the powder at all.
