My paperwork says that cream soups are allowed on post surgery full liquid diet. Would tomato soup and/or bean soup be considered cream soups.  Is it pretty much any soup that is pureed?

Yupp! =) Also, any broth would be OK as well. A lot of people will just sip the broth if they have a soup that is full with chicken, veggies etc. Sometimes I like just having the broth and not the contents lol =)

Any kind as long as it is strained or pureed.

Tomato soup was a no-no on my list I guess due to acidity but every doctor and/or program is different.  I had a complete list of things I could and could not have in each stage.

I tried the tomato soup just shortly after my surgery and it made me sick for 3 days...I would think twice before eating it too soon...Stick with chicken and beef broth, cream of chicken, and cream of mushroom...You could probably puree up some cream of potato or cream of celery...Mix and match them together for different flavors...I wouldnt do the bean soup too early because of it leaving gas on your tummy...

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only TRUE FRIENDS will leave footprints in your heart...And may that friendship have such a ONENESS that when one weeps the other will taste salt...Friends are like balloons ; once you let them go you can't get them back....So I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.

I was allowed to have tomato soup...I usually added half skim milk and half water.  Sometimes I would add a scoop of unflavored Unjury protein to it.  (just remember not to have it too hot when you do this or it won't dissolve)

Yes, as long as you can stir it and  all in it floats free of the bottom.   you might want to be careful of prepared cream soups. some people don't tolerate milk products after these surgeries...If you get large amounts of gas, it might be milk. Denise
