Daily Atheist Devotional #196 (Devil Dog Edition)

I've called our dogs "Devil Dogs".  I've called at least two of my four kids "Satan's Spawn". I called my WLS Hospital bed "da debil". It's an expression.  In what you quoted, it's reported she feared the dog would harm children, not that it was possessed.  The fact that she hanged and burned the dog is, however, evidence that she's a few tortilla chips short of nachos.

Equating this to suicide bombing and terrorism is why Atheists have a REAL credibility problem.

but she feared the dog would hurt children because it chewed on her bible not because it was vicious.

On the rare occassions you've put together a well reasoned argument, I've agreed completely... You could tell because I didn't post.

As it is, it's great sport correcting your lack of critical thinking skills, as in this case.

Yes, yes....you are a legend in your own mind.

No.. though you seem treat me as a legend in yours.

Mind reading is another of those skills you lack, though you frequently call on it.

You really should try some critical thinking of your own, rather than following your dogma blindly, as you accuse religious nuts of doing.

Perhaps.  You see this chain of events, and think they are related in specific ways, which is how the writer of the article wants you to think.

If the dog chewed some other item similarly valued to this lady, she likely would have made the same crazy leap to justify her rage and crazy actions.  We also aren't told about other things the dog may have destroyed.

The lady was crazy.  You are applying rational criteria to her crazy actions.  Which do you think is crazier?

Uhm...no.  Atheists have a credibility problem because rationality, logical observations, scientific advancements and facts don't have much bearing on the superstitious masses -- like those that BURN DOGS FOR BITING BIBLES.
